About Me

My name is Julia Mickey, and I'm the farmer here!

I grew up in Sudbury, MA and went to college in Cleveland, OH. My love for agriculture started when I was 21 years old and worked on an organic vegetable farm for a Summer during college. That love has since taken me into professional cannabis cultivation, viticulture, fruit tree orchard management, and now cut flower farming.

If you have questions or would like a consultation on any of the following topics, email me:

  • Apple, pear, cherry, nectarine, peach, or plum tree (planting, pruning, disease, bugs, etc.)

  • Wine grape management and pruning

  • Irrigation set-up

  • Irrigation automation

  • Edible garden creation and management

  • Scouting/insect monitoring

  • Crop planning

  • Flower farming

In my spare time, I enjoy craft IPAs, ultimate frisbee on a sunny day, Magic the Gathering, and board games.

About the Cats

Let's be real, you're more curious about the cats. They're my mascots!

The gray tabby is Shrimp Scampi, and the long-haired white calico is Rigatoni — affectionately known as Toni.

Scampi quite literally fell into my life at just 6-8 weeks old in 2023, when he tumbled out from underneath a moving car right in front of me on the road. I stopped my car, scooped him up, and the rest is history. He’s been by my side ever since — a tiny survivor turned full-time farm supervisor.

Toni joined the family a little later. She was part of an outdoor colony at my most recent job in Vermont, quietly keeping her distance but always nearby. In November 2025, she became the only cat I was able to safely trap — and the lucky one to trade outdoor uncertainty for cozy naps and regular meals.

Now, Scampi and Toni are cherished members of the household, bringing personality, mischief, and plenty of charm to everyday life.
